Mineral size guide

Photos can make a small crystal look huge — so most of our specimens are photographed in-hand, giving you an instant sense of scale. Below is every collector size class with a real reference photo. Each listing also states exact dimensions in centimetres.

Size FAQ

How do you measure a specimen?

We measure the longest dimension first, then width and height, in centimetres — and list weight in grams. The first number is the size class collectors use.

Why are most photos taken in-hand?

A hand is the fastest way to judge real scale. An adult hand spans roughly 18–19 cm across open fingers and about 8 cm at the palm, so it gives an instant sense of how big a piece is.

Which size is best for me?

Thumbnails and miniatures are ideal for a desk or shelf and ship affordably; cabinet sizes make bold display centrepieces. Every listing shows exact dimensions so you can choose with confidence.
