About this specimen
A nearly rounded calcite aggregate is covered in densely overlapping, folded-looking layers. Small wavy lines and curled margins run across much of the surface, giving the piece a finely convoluted texture. The surface color is muted beige to gray-green.
The outline is close to spherical but remains irregular, with shallow depressions and small protruding areas. Overlapping curved layers continue across the rounded surface.
Locality: Huanggangliang, Inner Mongolia, China. Weight: 15 g (0.53 oz). Dimensions: 2 × 1.5 × 2 cm (20 × 15 × 20 mm; 0.79 × 0.59 × 0.79 in).
